Novel Process for Carbon Cycle Utilization from Industrial Flue Gas into Methanol

Reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for mitigating climate changes is globally necessary. As a major GHG emitter, refinery sector responsible 14.1% China’s CO 2 emission in 2019. The flue associated with petroleum refining has high content, presenting potentials methanol and electricity co-production when the methane hydrogen dry are considered. To unlock green opportunity refineries, this study we employed Aspen Plus to develop process synthesis by recovering fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit gas. results show that new increases energy efficiency FCC 2.4%. Compared traditionally natural gas-based production, developed enables annual mitigation 1.3 million tons.
